Well… it has been a while hasn’t it?

There have been several big changes here. Lets see… over a year since my last post!

So lets catch up.

1) My Beloved and I were blessed with not 1 but 2 new bathrooms last March/April.

My bathroom.

My Beloved’s bathroom.

New Plumbing

This is what the floor in my bathroom looked like when they tore out all the coverings. We went from near collapse to gorgeous and perfect for 2 “old” folks.

We got inspired and painted accent walls in our kitchen and bedroom.

The bathroom guys also built us sturdy hand rails to our back steps! There is a metal hand hold now inside this and there is a matching one on the other side.

2) I went back to work!

In Feb 2021 we had what folks here call snowmagedden.

I live in middle Texas. Snow itself is rare. In my 28 years here, I have had an inch or so every 5 to 10 years. The 2021 storm dumped… 6 inches of snow in my back yard! That isn’t all.

A couple days before that hit, the water company declared an emergency, as in do not USE the water in the tap. Some one had dumped benzine in the water. So fine I can buy water. I do often anyway for just such an emergency. Stores were rationing water. So now I buy more when I can just like I do other pantry items.

Then my heater quit. I had just had it serviced so that was a shock. My son and neighbor gave us electric heaters.

Then the electric grid on this side of town collapsed. Just as the really cold, snowy weather began.

Just as they got the water issue fixed, pipes began bursting all over town. Not just home pipes, but water mains! Water pressure for us here was nil.

My heater is on my, slanted, roof. No way my HVAC guy could get to it safely. We went and stayed with my son for a few days since his side of town had water and power. Though the water was limited and so showers were not encouraged.

Finally after 3 days we got power back and were able to at least use the space heaters and heated blankets and pads again.

After about a week the ice on my roof melted and my HVAC guy was able to access my roof and repair the issue.

As he was finishing up he said the phone had been ringing off the hook. I said well if you need help answering phones I can do that.

A month later I was hired. I love my job. I have known my boss and his family for over 10 years and I love them like family. I have added to that family the other tech and the install crew! More brothers and sons!

3) Now this past weekend, my dil and son came, with the grand-babies and painted our big family/living/dining room.

I am attempting to add pictures to this and label them. Hopefully it won’t end up just a big mess!

What do you think?
