online and as I often do did a random search. I began looking up the Duggars. I love the Duggar family. That led me to search on quiver full.
That was eye opening and some what angering. There is a lady who wrote a book. So I read interviews and the synopsis of her book on quiver-full families. According to her it is a racist political movement to flood the voting booths with conservative white protestants. At least that is the jist of the things i found. I will NOT give her name or book title here, that would just give her promotion.
Now while I am not "in" the quiver full group in so far as having many children, I DO believe in trusting God for your family. God can if He so chooses over come ANY form of birth control (Just ask Jesus' mom Mary about that!)
What I began to understand searching this subject was that people outside Faith just don't get it. They simply can not fathom trusting an unseen being for our day to day welfare. For our lives, for our country. They feel there must be an angle. They can not accept that we do things motivated by what the Bible says is right.
They view being a mom of many children as slavery. They view submission as male dominance. Being silent in church is being silenced. All because they do not see or understand the root of it all. Nor do they try, they will not study the texts they will not open their minds to the idea that there is another, perhaps even better way.
As with most things such people do not understand, negative labels must be applied. Crazy, nutjob, loon, oppressive and so forth. A lot of us were brought up to believe feminism freed women. Feminism being the antithesis of quiver full. Quiver full scares feminists, because they can not compete child wise, they do not believe in using their body that way. It violates their "rights" to share their body with another. Many of us have through our own journeys realized that is not completely true. Yes feminism did make it easier for an abused wife to get help and leave her abuser. (cuz there are some dudes who are just evil monkeys doing the bidding of satan) However it also created the idea that when one or the other one decides they do not love the spouse it is grounds for divorce. It made divorce easy. It is no longer taboo to be divorced for other than biblical means.
It paved the way for living beyond our means where now many wives feel the compelled to work to support a lifestyle they do not need. (Really, how many outside activities do kids really need? Why does each child need their own bedroom? How many pairs of shoes are a need?)
It also lead the way to the idea that being a wife and mom was some how inferior to working or having a job. This lead to day care and the idea was born, if you did not work you were "just" a mom. It doesn't matter that you are responsible for shaping the future. It does not matter how talented or skillful you are. You are "just" a mom. If you do not bring $$$ to the table you are not important. yeah, that is the salvation all women need to have... :jim_punch:
No feminism is not the only obstacle the modern family faces. Church used to be the center of all social activity. Neighbors all went to church on Sunday, and helped each other during the rest of the week, just like in the first century. Church then was considered as family, not just relatives. Now most of us see our church family on Sunday if then. Often everyone went to just one church, because there were not enough people of what ever other denominations to have multiple churches. They worked together as one unit for the Faith. Now there are so many churches, most fighting, some inside their own denominations, as to which is the right one. I have seen this happen in my own life. Any church but "this one" is taboo do not go there.
Again, as with the faith to let God decide on our family size the unbelievers do not understand. God will lead us to the church group for us. As far as the fighting goes, I do not understand either. That is the subject of another post, perhaps for tomorrow.
What makes me mad is the people on the outside looking in deciding they know why we are doing this or that. Out of my many sisters here that are quiver full, I have yet to hear one of them say in 2020 their children will rise up as an army of conservative Christian voters and sweep all elections everywhere. Come on, would women be so stupid as to raise up Children for God to be little voting robots? Invest 20 years of our lives just to swing the vote? No. We are raising up children for God so that we have workers for the harvest. So that as many as possible will hear the gospel message and come to a living breathing Faith in our Savior.
Plus kids are cool to hang out with!:respect-059:
