First post.
I read a saying in a book this week that has stuck with me and strikes a cord. The quote is “ To sweep a room as to God's laws, makes it and the action fine.” It reminds me over and over of the verse, All you do in word of Deed do all for the glory of God, and that we are to do everything we do as a service to God. It makes a world of difference in how you do things when you do them as if you are working directly for God. God doesn't just want lip service, He wants all our service. We are to please our husbands, as if they were God. Clean our homes as if they were God's home, as in truth they are if we seek Him to dwell with us there. Just a thought that has been with me this week.

Post 2.
My home is vintage. It is probably circa 1950, with pocket doors. I love them Beloved, not so much. My home is also now just mine and Beloved's, as our son moved out last weekend!
I have my office, and I have been a decluttering mad woman. My home now is company ready, except for the breakfast room, and Beloved's office, which he and ds must do before I get the breakfast room back to use as a breakfast room.
I love waking up in a home in which company, should they appear (I live too far out of town for that to really happen) unexpectedly can be welcomed with open arms and smiles, not with a shoving of junk into a closet or under a sofa.

I am creating my own routines, and I love how freeing having a clean home is! I have also realized my canisters are to big to cook just for 2 now. So I am down sizing into smaller jars. Not like quart or anything, but about 2 lbs sizes. Instead of 5. I will buy in the bigger sizes and freeze all but 2lbs worth. That way it is easy to get too if needed, yet my counter is not hounded by big canisters!
Sigh, live here on Mel's Place is so full and fresh. The freezer has food, the pantry has food. The home is just right for 2, and God dwells with us, and brings joy and peace and love for one another.
How could it get any better than this???
