I was talking with a friend the other day. She informed me that I am her Titus 2... this makes 2 people in less than a week that have so informed me. Talk about a reason to watch what you say!

I mean, I am glad ladies are learning to be godly wives. That to me is the best news I could ever get. It also though reminded me how often I drop the ball and goof it up.

When I began to think of why I goof it up, I realized I goof when I become prideful or let my ego take over. When I begin to think along the “I” lines.

I am doing so well, I am pleasing Beloved, I am doing great on the house work... you get the idea.

Well what dawned on me this week is, Christ was much more humble than ANY Christian I have ever met. Now think about this for a second. The Creator is more humble than the creation. We are all puffed up cuz we do this or that, PLUS we add a burden to do xyz as well, ain't we special???

Now the issue with us behaving like this (and it can be little things or big finger pointing things) is, we are acting as if WE are something! Christ did not tell anyone how good He was, and yet He was perfect. Today women boast on themselves. “I am dresses only” “ I head cover” as if those are pedestals we get to stand on.

Well ladies, get off the pedestal. We have no more right to glory in these things than we have claim to the throne of England. Think about it. The CREATOR quietly lived and died for us, yet WE decide what is right or wrong to follow. Ladies that is like the apron you made last weekend deciding it is too good to be worn by you.

Think about it next time you feel proud of your Faith, your modesty, your rightness or what ever else you feel YOU accomplished. Remember who it is that makes you able to do these things, and bow your head in thanks.

I have never been given such a compliment. But, I have thought of the rest of your post a lot lately.

How do my actions speak of my faith? Or do they? How about my mode of dress, or my language and tone of voice? Would someone who doesn't know me think...wow, there's a Christian?

These are things that have been in my mind lately.

Amen and amen, Mel.

Apart from Christ, we can do nothing that is pleasing to Him.:)

The Bible says our righteousness is like filthy rags.

That was great, Mel! Thanks for the reminder and gentle rebuke.

Prov. 27:5-6 Open rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

I say, Amen, too! Pride has been on my mind, lately, too! It is usually the little things that get me...you know, I am proud of getting something done around the house, and excitedly I call my sil to say, (ie, boast) "I got the whole kitchen clean!" or, "I got ALL my laundry done!".....I have to work on stopping that. Thanks for the reminder. :)

I don't know how we can claim to be a Christian if we are not striving to be humble.

Very well said, Mel. This post has given me much food for thought today. It is something that I'm in the midst of working on. I have gleaned an incredible amount of good "food" here on PH that is helping me in my walk with the Lord. :) Thank you!
